School Uniform

​​​At Mater Dei Catholic Primary School, we take pride in our school community, and our uniform plays an important role in fostering a sense of belonging and respect. 

It is the responsibility of parents and carers to ensure their children attend school each day wearing the correct school uniform. If a student is unable to wear the correct uniform for any reason, a written note/email providing an explanation must be given to the class teacher. The school hat is a compulsory part of the school uniform and must also be worn respectfully and consistently. 

UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS

Footwear

  • Black shoes are worn by both boys and girls. 

  • Leather shoes and/or leather joggers are recommended (suitable for physical education activities) 

  • Coloured shoes and basketball-style high-top shoes are not permitted unless required for orthopaedic reasons.

  • Students may change into more appropriate footwear for Physical Education but must change back into their correct school shoes after the activity.

Hats

School hats must be worn:

  • When arriving at and leaving school
  • During lunch and play breaks
  • During all outdoor activities, including excursions and incursions
Jewellery and Accessories
Acceptable items include:

  • Maroon, white or sky blue headbands or ribbons
  • Gold or silver sleepers or studs (one per ear)
  • A medical-alert bracelet/disc
  • A watch 
Not permitted: Nail polish, excessive jewellery or accessories outside those listed above.

Hair

  • Ha​ir must be brushed, neat and tidy. 
  • Hair that sits below the collar or falls across the eyebrows must be tied back and away from the face.
  • Extremes in hairstyle or colouring are not permitted (e.g. tracks, mullets). 
  • Please contact the school office if clarification is required.

Purchasing Uniforms

All new ​school uniform items are available from:  Ashgrove West Drapery, 467 Waterworks Rd, Ashgrove QLD 4060.

Second-Hand Uniform Shop

The Second-Hand School Uniform Shop stocks:

  • ​Sports house t-shirts​ 
  • Boys & girls sports shorts/pants 
  • Swimming caps and visors. 
  • A limited supply of second-hand uniform items (including hats and school bags). 
Donations of clean, good-quality second-hand uniforms are warmly appreciated and may be left at the school office.

Opening Hours and Purchasing Options

The Second-Hand Uniform Shop (located on the school site) is:

  • ​Open each Friday of the school term, 8:15 am to 8:45 am unless otherwise advised. 
  • Items can be purchased directly from the Second-Hand Uniform shop during opening hours.
  • Orders may also be placed via the school's QKR app, with items delivered directly to students.
