Camps & Excursions

At Mater Dei Catholic Primary school, learning extends far beyond the classroom. Excursions, incursions and camps play a vital role in bringing the curriculum to life, enriching each child's understanding through real-world experiences and authentic connections.

Throughout the year, students from every year level participate in 2-4 carefully planned excursions or incursions that directly support and deepen their classroom learning. These experiences spark curiosity, strengthen engagement and help students see the relevance of their learning in the wider world.

From Year 4 to Year 6, students also take part in our school camp program-an important and memorable part of the curriculum at Mater Dei. Camps give children the chance to grown in independence, resilience and teamwork. Whether it is a single-day experience or a multi-day adventure, each camp is thoughtfully designed to meet student's developmental needs while offering safe, supportive opportunities for personal growth.

Together, these experiences foster confidence, connection and a sense of wonder-helping every child flourish as a capable, curious and courageous learner.
