A Parent Workshop on Understanding Childhood Anxiety

Mater Dei is proud to host this practical and informative session presented by Tricia Chandra, Principal Educational and Developmental Psychologist and Director of Growth Assist Psychology & Co. Tricia is an Endorsed Educational and Developmental Psychologist and has more than 25 years of experience working with school children.
In this session you’ll explore:
- The difference between normal and disordered anxiety
- What happens in the brain when a child is anxious
- Signs and symptoms of anxiety and how it can present in different ways
- Common mistakes and what not to do
- Practical strategies that can help your child manage and reduce anxiety
- Treatment options available for childhood anxiety
Drinnks and nibbles are also included.
Whether your child is struggling with anxiety at home or school, or you’re simply looking for tools to support them more effectively, this two-hour workshop is for you.
